Asa Hutchinson, the former 2024 GOP presidential contender and ex-governor of Arkansas, is embarking on a new journey as a political analyst with Scripps News, the organization revealed on Monday.
Scheduled to feature regularly on Mondays, Hutchinson will lend his insights to “The Race,” the news outlet’s evening program focused on politics and campaigns. His inaugural appearance as a political analyst occurred this Monday.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the opportunity, Hutchinson remarked, “I am excited to be part of the Scripps News team as we head into one of the most consequential elections in history.”
He underscored Scripps News’ commitment to balanced political coverage, which he believes is vital for the nation at this pivotal juncture.
Hutchinson stood out as one of the most anti-Trump figures among the GOP contenders during the primary race. Despite his efforts, he faced challenges, with the Republican contest highlighting former President Trump’s enduring influence within the party. Finally, Hutchinson withdrew from the race in January following the Iowa caucuses.
Hutchinson isn’t the only former presidential candidate transitioning into a new role post-primary. Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley recently joined the Hudson Institute as the Walter P. Stern Chair, embarking on a new chapter beyond the political arena.
