Former Attorney General Bill Barr’s recent remarks shed light on his perspective regarding Donald Trump’s behavior during his time in office. Barr admitted that Trump often expressed anger towards government officials, sometimes making extreme statements, but he didn’t always take them at face value.

During an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, Barr addressed reports of Trump allegedly speaking about executing a leaker, stating that while he didn’t recall the specific instance, it wouldn’t have been surprising given Trump’s temperament.

Barr suggested that Trump’s inflammatory remarks should not always be interpreted literally, noting that Trump would occasionally say such things to vent frustration. He emphasized that he didn’t believe Trump would actually carry out such actions, and he trusted his ability to reason with him.

Despite endorsing Trump after leaving office, Barr expressed confidence that Trump wouldn’t pose a serious threat to democracy based on his observations while working with him. He described it as a gut feeling, formed from his experience of witnessing Trump’s behavior firsthand.

Regarding Trump’s subsequent criticism of him on Truth Social, Barr brushed it off as typical of Trump’s style, labeling it as “classic Trump.” This nonchalant response suggests that Barr has become accustomed to Trump’s penchant for fiery rhetoric and personal attacks.

Barr’s comments offer insight into his complex relationship with Trump and his perspective on the former president’s behavior, highlighting the challenges of working with a leader known for his volatile temperament.
