Hunter Biden’s legal team sent a letter to Fox News threatening legal action over the outlet’s use of photos that Biden claimed are private and were obtained through hacking.

The letter, obtained by several news outlets, accuses Fox News of unlawful publication and demands that the outlet retract and remove the images from its platforms.

Biden’s attorneys argue that Fox News has been using the photos to perpetuate a false narrative and boost ratings, stating, “For the last five years, Fox News has relentlessly attacked Hunter Biden and made him a caricature in order to boost ratings and for its financial gain.”

Fox News responded with a statement, saying, “Hunter Biden’s lawyers have belatedly chosen to publicly attack Fox News’ constitutionally protected coverage regarding their client.”

The outlet argued that Biden is a public figure who has been the subject of investigations and has admitted to wrongdoing, and therefore, Fox News has accurately covered these events as part of its First Amendment rights.

The dispute centers around a docuseries produced by Fox Nation, which Biden’s attorneys claim is fictionalized and blurs the line between fact and fiction.

Tina Glandian, one of Biden’s attorneys, said, “There’s absolutely no newsworthy purpose to this… it’s basically blending in fact and fiction in a way that doesn’t allow viewers to decipher what is fact and fiction.” She argued that this portrayal is harmful because it can be perceived as true, even if it’s not.

Fox News has been covering the various corruption scandals and business dealings of Hunter Biden, and Republicans in Congress have conducted investigations into his activities, alleging that President Biden benefited from some of his dealings.

The outlet has maintained that its coverage is protected by the First Amendment and is accurate, while Biden’s attorneys argue that it constitutes an invasion of privacy and defamation.
