In a recent discussion with Novara Media founder Aaron Bastani, the MP for Rochdale, George Galloway, expressed his belief that gay relationships are not “normal” and should not be taught about in schools.
Galloway, who was elected as MP for Rochdale in February, shared his concerns about the education system, particularly in England, where he feels his children are being taught things that contradict his beliefs.
Galloway emphasized that he wants his children to be taught that the norm in society is a traditional family structure consisting of a mother, father, and children.
He expressed opposition to the idea of presenting gay relationships as equal to heterosexual ones in school curricula. While acknowledging the existence of LGBTQ+ individuals and advocating for their respect, Galloway stated that he does not consider these relationships to be equal to heterosexual ones.
He also voiced objections to teaching children about the concept of multiple genders, asserting that he does not want his children exposed to such ideas.
Galloway’s remarks have drawn criticism from figures like veteran gay Labour MP Chris Bryant, who expressed heightened concern over the prevalence of anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment.
This is not the first time Galloway’s views on LGBTQ+ issues have sparked controversy. In the past, he has been criticized for anti-trans statements, including his assertion that gender is a “physiological fact” and cannot be changed.
