In April, the Russian army unleashed a devastating barrage of attacks on Ukraine, firing over 300 missiles of various types, nearly 300 Shahed drones, and more than 3,200 guided aerial bombs, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The relentless assault has left a trail of destruction and devastation across the country, with multiple cities and communities bearing the brunt of the Russian aggression.
From the Sumy region to Odesa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Mykolaiv, and Kherson, Ukrainian cities and towns have been subjected to daily and nightly terror, with innocent civilians caught in the crossfire.
The President lamented that despite the support from countries that have provided air defense systems and imposed sanctions on the Russian military-industrial complex, saving thousands of Ukrainian lives, the Russian strikes have still claimed numerous lives.
Zelenskyy emphasized that the only way to stop this terror is through the collective power of the Ukrainian people, the unity of the world, pressure on Russia, and the provision of air defense systems to Ukraine, as well as the bravery of Ukrainian soldiers who are holding the frontline.
The Kharkiv Oblast Governor, Oleh Syniehubov, revealed during a national telethon that since the beginning of the year, Russia has launched over 2,500 attacks on civilian targets and critical infrastructure in the Kharkiv Oblast alone, including more than 150 missile attacks.
The region, which borders Russia and is close to the frontline, is subjected to daily attacks by Russian troops, who use S-300 missiles, Iranian-made Shahed drones, and glide bombs to strike towns and villages.
The ongoing assault has left the people of Ukraine facing unimaginable suffering, and the international community is urged to continue its support and pressure on Russia to end the senseless violence and terror.
