Two Democratic Bob Fergusons Exit Washington Governor’s Race Amid Controversy

Bob Ferguson Duo Withdraws from WA Governor's Race, Clearing Path for AG Bob Ferguson

In a shocking turn of events, Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson addressed a brazen attempt to confuse voters and undermine the integrity of the state’s election system.

Two individuals, both named Robert Ferguson, filed to run for governor as Democrats, sparking allegations of an “illegal scheme” to split votes and aid conservative candidate Dave Reichert. Ferguson, the Democratic frontrunner, condemned the move as a “direct attack on our democracy” and vowed to fight back.

Ferguson revealed that one of the new candidates had previously voted as a Republican, and both had been served cease and desist letters.

The Graham-based Bob Ferguson acknowledged receiving the letter and announced his withdrawal from the race, citing a lack of resources to combat a legal challenge. The other Robert Ferguson, from Yakima, has yet to comment.

Ferguson and former King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg denounced the move as a criminal prank that undermines the election system. Ferguson also criticized Reichert for failing to speak out against the scheme, orchestrated by right-wing activist Glen Morgan.

Reichert later released a statement distancing himself from the controversy, but Ferguson remains vigilant, warning of national threats to democracy and urging voters to be aware of the tactics employed by his opponents.
