These visits have been seen as a show of loyalty to the former president, who is seeking a running mate and rallying the party ahead of the November election.
However, Romney lamented that the displays have become a “litmus test” for Republicans, prioritizing loyalty over dignity and decorum. He emphasized that those seeking the highest office should maintain a level of decorum and avoid “prostrating themselves” for political gain.
