In a surprising revelation, Aaron Rodgers, the star quarterback of the New York Jets, recently disclosed that he was once considered as a potential running mate by independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
During an interview with Tucker Carlson, Rodgers recalled his conversation with Kennedy, where he expressed his initial skepticism, saying, “Are you serious? I’m a fucking football player.”
Despite his reservations, Rodgers acknowledged that he gave the idea some thought, largely due to his admiration for Kennedy and his desire to “bring America back to what she used to be.”
Rodgers’ support for Kennedy is hardly surprising, given their shared views on the Covid-19 vaccine and the virus. In his interview with Carlson, Rodgers drew a parallel between Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin, with Kennedy having also expressed similar sentiments.
Kennedy has faced intense scrutiny in recent times, with disgraced actor Kevin Spacey publicly endorsing his candidacy and the revelation that Kennedy once had a brain parasite.
Also, the extended Kennedy family has refused to support his bid, and many of his former colleagues in the environmental movement have spoken out against him.
This has eroded his base of support, comprising admirers of his family and affluent “new age hippies.” As a result, Kennedy’s candidacy is widely regarded as a spoiler effort, but its impact on the election remains uncertain, leaving many to wonder whether it will benefit Trump or Biden.
