White House Launches ‘Infrastructure Week’ to Highlight Biden’s Policy Wins

- Biden Showcases Infrastructure Progress, Seeks to Connect with Americans

President Joe Biden’s administration is launching a nationwide campaign to highlight the impact of his infrastructure and clean energy initiatives, with surrogates traveling across the country to promote projects funded by his landmark laws. The effort aims to contrast Biden’s achievements with his predecessor’s failed “infrastructure weeks” and convince Americans that his programs are improving their lives.

However, recent polls suggest that voters remain skeptical, with only 17% of the $1.1 trillion in funding allocated having been spent so far.

‘Infrastructure Week’ Kicks Off as Biden Aims to Tout Accomplishments

Despite this, White House officials argue that Biden’s programs have already made a tangible impact, citing examples such as expanded rail service, clean drinking water, and internet connectivity.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, senior White House adviser Tom Perez, and acting Labor Secretary Julie Su will visit projects around the country, including a high-speed internet initiative in Virginia and a workforce development project in North Carolina.

The administration is also releasing by-state fact sheets to provide local politicians with talking points about the major Biden-era laws, including the pandemic relief package, infrastructure law, CHIPS and Science Act, and climate law.

While polls show voters are unfamiliar with these laws and don’t see their benefits, the White House hopes that highlighting the projects and funding will change their minds before the November elections.
