The Ukrainian Air Force reported a remarkable victory as all 37 Shahed-131/136 drones launched by Russia overnight were successfully intercepted and shot down by the country’s air defense systems.
These drones were part of a coordinated attack targeting eight regions across Ukraine, including heavily populated areas like Kyiv, Odesa, and Vinnytsia oblasts.
While the defense forces managed to repel the drone attacks, regional governors reported civilian casualties resulting from other lethal weapons employed by Russian forces.

In southern Kherson Oblast, the onslaught led to the death of two individuals and left two others wounded. The attacks, which targeted vital port infrastructure, caused extensive damage to multiple structures, including a multi-story building, eight houses, and a warehouse in the region.
Similarly, in eastern Donetsk Oblast, one civilian lost their life in the town of Kurakhove, situated approximately 50 kilometers southwest of the Russian-occupied city of Avdiivka.
The ongoing conflict also inflicted casualties in Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine’s second-largest city. Six individuals, including two children aged 13 and 16, sustained injuries in a Russian KAB attack. These incidents underscore the indiscriminate nature of the conflict, with civilians bearing the brunt of the violence.
The Ukrainian authorities continue to emphasize the importance of civilian evacuation in regions subjected to intense military operations, aiming to mitigate further casualties and destruction. The conflict, characterized by relentless attacks on both frontline areas and urban centers, has resulted in widespread harm to civilians and infrastructure.
Despite the successful defense against the drone onslaught, the situation remains precarious, with casualties reported across various regions. The resilience of Ukrainian defense forces in thwarting these attacks highlights their determination to protect civilian lives and uphold territorial integrity in the face of aggression.
