Even in the face of this loss, Americans continue to celebrate its birth on the 4th of July with fireworks and barbecues, often resulting in unfortunate accidents. The nation’s death goes largely unrecognized or mourned, as many are still in the early stages of grief.
The United States, weakened by mass shootings, climate change, and political dysfunction, succumbed to self-inflicted wounds. The final blow was delivered by the Supreme Court, led by Justice John Roberts, which granted the President immunity from prosecution for any “official” act, effectively placing the President above the law.
This decision has entrenched the Court in partisan politics, undermining the democratic principles the nation once stood for.
Millions of Americans are now experiencing pain and guilt, while some members of the MAGA party celebrate the end of democracy. The nation remains deeply divided, with conservative figures like Mitch McConnell and the Heritage Foundation rejoicing as if witnessing a resurrection.
The United States had a remarkable history, evolving from rebellion against British taxes to a beacon of democracy, despite underlying issues of poverty, lack of education, and systemic racism.

During the 20th century, the United States grew in international prominence, particularly during and after the World Wars. However, underlying issues persisted, and warnings from figures like President Dwight D. Eisenhower about the dangers of the military-industrial complex went unheeded.
The 1960s brought hope with John F. Kennedy’s presidency, but his assassination and subsequent events exposed the deepening national disease.
By the 21st century, the United States struggled with terrorism, economic disparity, and failing infrastructure. Legislative measures like the Patriot Act and No Child Left Behind exacerbated the nation’s problems.
As the country deteriorated, older leaders clung to power, and Christian Nationalism gained influence, reflecting a desperate appeal to a higher power. The Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity signaled the end of democratic accountability, overshadowing President Joe Biden’s attempts to bring hope.
To revive democracy, it is proposed to place additional justices on the Supreme Court. However, the nation remains divided, uncertain, and stuck in anger and bargaining. The future of the United States depends on finding a way forward and embracing hope and a better future from this political death.
