A man has been indicted for issuing threats against top U.S. officials, including the current president, vice president, and a former president, as revealed by U.S. Attorney Kevin G. Ritz in a Friday press release.
Hall, identified as 37-year-old Kyl Alton, allegedly posted a series of threats via the social media platform X in late June, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Tennessee.

The report specified that Hall had made threats to assassinate President Biden, Vice President Harris, and former President Obama, as well as indicated plans to shoot and crash the president’s plane.
In response to these actions, Hall now faces charges of “two counts of threats against a sitting President and Vice President” under Title 18, United States Code, Section 871(a), along with “one count of a threat against a former President” under Section 879(a)(1).
Hall’s threatening posts came just weeks before an assassination attempt on former President Trump occurred. In the aftermath of the attempt on Trump’s life, both Republicans and Democrats advocated for a reduction in political hostility.
Following the incident, President Biden called for a decrease in inflammatory rhetoric, stating, “The divisiveness in our political landscape has reached dangerous levels, and it’s time to cool things down.”
