Jack Posobiec, on his show Human Events Daily, urged for the inclusion of the SAVE Act in Congress’ September spending bill. He began by posing a critical question to his audience: should illegal aliens be allowed to vote in American elections? Posobiec highlighted the issue of immigrants voting in certain states due to insufficient identification checks, arguing that the SAVE Act is the solution to ensure only eligible citizens can vote.
The SAVE Act, or Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, aims to enforce stricter voter registration by requiring proof of citizenship. It also mandates states to remove non-citizens from voter rolls and initiate deportation processes for them.
Posobiec emphasized the importance of implementing this law across all 50 states, not just in swing states, and suggested that it should be a nonpartisan issue that all Republicans support. He mentioned that the House has already passed the act, underscoring its significance.
Despite its passage in the House, Posobiec pointed out that the Democrats oppose the act, and President Joe Biden has threatened to veto it. Posobiec argued that Republicans need to leverage their influence to push the act forward. He called on the public and the conservative movement to be the “forcing function” necessary to ensure the act’s implementation.
To ensure the act’s passage, Posobiec recommended that Republicans in Congress attach the SAVE Act to the upcoming September 30 spending bill. He framed this as a strategic move, asserting that if the government is to be funded, the funding must include provisions for nationwide citizenship verification for voting. This tactic, according to Posobiec, is essential for securing the act’s approval.
Posobiec’s message is clear: the SAVE Act is vital for safeguarding voter integrity by ensuring that only citizens can vote. He urged Republicans to use their legislative power to tie the act to critical government funding, thereby forcing its adoption despite opposition from Democrats and President Biden.
