Shane Curry, a 20-year-old from Massachusetts, has been newly charged with murder following the death of his 17-year-old girlfriend, Navaeh Goddard. Initially, in April 2022, Curry was charged with assault and battery after Goddard was found dead at his home. At the time, she had been reported missing from Providence, Rhode Island.
On April 5, 2022, police were called to Curry’s residence in Stow, Massachusetts. Curry initially obstructed their entry, keeping them outside for approximately two hours. Once inside, law enforcement officers discovered Goddard’s lifeless body.
Following his arrest, Curry was taken to a hospital for evaluation. He faced preliminary charges of assault and battery on a household or family member and assault and battery causing serious bodily injury. These charges were linked to the circumstances surrounding Goddard’s death.
Curry has now been formally charged with murder and has been ordered to remain in custody without bail. Investigators have determined that Goddard was stabbed, leading to the escalation of Curry’s charges to murder.
