The federal government has announced that applications are now being accepted for the 2025-2026 White House Fellows Program, regarded as the premier initiative for leadership and public service in the country.

This distinguished, non-partisan fellowship offers successful candidates the chance to work directly in the White House alongside top-ranking officials, including Cabinet secretaries. The program is a one-year, paid position, providing a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience in federal government operations.

Since its inception in 1964, the White House Fellows Program has produced approximately 900 alumni who have made significant contributions in various sectors.

Among its notable graduates are Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro, Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell, and U.S. Ambassador to Panama Mari Carmen Aponte. These individuals exemplify the program’s commitment to fostering future leaders dedicated to public service and governance.

The fellowship is set to begin next August and will last for one full year. To qualify, applicants must be U.S. citizens who have completed at least an undergraduate degree. While the program aims to attract a wide range of candidates, it restricts federal government employees from applying, with the exception of those currently serving in active-duty military roles.

Rose Vela, the Director of the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships, highlighted the program’s non-partisan legacy and its enduring impact over the past 50 years. She urged individuals with a passion for leadership and public service to review the application criteria on the program’s website and consider applying themselves or encouraging others to participate in this exceptional opportunity.
