President Biden Connects with Military Members in Thanksgiving Calls

As the holiday season begins, Biden acknowledges his gratitude for the trust placed in him and the strides made in diplomacy

Thanksgiving calls were made by President Biden to members of the U.S. military, as confirmed by the White House. Joined by First Lady Jill Biden, he connected with service members from all branches stationed worldwide, extending appreciation to them and their families for their sacrifices and dedication.

The president spoke to a diverse group, including the Guam National Guard, Marines, the USS Jason Dunham crew, the Air Force’s 430th Expeditionary Electronic Combat Squadron, U.S. Space Force members in Cyprus, and the Coast Guard crew aboard the Charles Moulthrope, based in Bahrain.

Biden shared his final Thanksgiving message as president, expressing heartfelt gratitude to his supporters. He posted on X, “With hearts full of gratitude: Happy Thanksgiving, America. Jill and I are so grateful for the trust you’ve placed in us these past four years — serving you has been the honor of our lives.”

The holiday season at the White House began with the traditional turkey pardoning event earlier in the week, where he pardoned turkeys named Peach and Blossom. Reflecting on the occasion, Biden remarked, “This event marks the start of the holiday season here in Washington. It’s also my last time addressing you during this season as president. Serving as your president has been the honor of my life, and I’m forever grateful.”

While visiting a Nantucket fire department on Thanksgiving Day, Biden expressed thanks for a “peaceful transition” of power. He voiced appreciation for his family, the orderly transfer of the presidency, and recent diplomatic strides in the Middle East, saying, “I’m thankful we could achieve the first steps toward peace in Lebanon, by the grace of God.”
