A deadly shooting occurred early Monday morning on Chicago’s West Side following an argument between three men. At around 1:30 a.m., two 32-year-old men got into a verbal altercation with a 25-year-old man on the sidewalk in the 2000 block of S. Paulina.
The argument escalated when all three men began firing shots at each other. As a result, the 25-year-old man sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to Stroger Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
One of the 32-year-olds was critically injured, also suffering multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. The other 32-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his arm but was reported to be in good condition after being taken to the same hospital.
As of now, no one is in custody, and the investigation is ongoing. Chicago police detectives from Area Three are handling the case, working to gather more information and determine what led to the fatal shooting.
