Doctor Who Season 13 Confirmed: All We know So Far

Doctor Who Season 13

Guess what, Doctor Who fans are going to have a much happier new year than others. It is officially confirmed that Doctor Who Season 13 will give fans relief for some more time before worrying for next season. The series writer Chris Chibnall recently confirmed that there would be a season thirteen for this Sci-fi Adventure – Drama show. He also confirmed that he would continue in the team with many of the show’s cast and Crew for Doctor Who Season 13.

What is Doctor Who?

Those who have watched this show won’t even be asking this question. They will only ask one question “when is the next season airing arrive?” For those who have never heard about Doctor Who, we suggest watching this show, as detailing the entire story will take quite some time! You may ask why we said so? Well, there is a reason.

To tell you about Doctor who, we have to go back to 1963. Back in that time, this show was produced by the BBC network (they also make the present show). This British Science fiction show’s story is set around the adventures of an extraterrestrial being, “Time Lord” called Doctor (Currently played by Jodie Whittaker). With various companions from Earth, he fights against the enemies from Space.

The show gained more traction in the ’60s mainly because of the show’s time-traveling and space ship TARDIS. It appears to look like a British Police box, a common sight in 1963’s Britain when seeing from outside. The 2005 remake of this show also didn’t disappoint the fans. It stayed faithful to its source material. The show was so successful that it got multiple spin-offs in comic books, films, novels, and audio dramas. The show also had television spin-offs Torchwood (2006-2011), The Sarah Jane Adventures (2007-2011), and even Class (2016), all of them pleasing the audience.

Who will all return to Doctor Who Season 13?

It is already confirmed that Chris Chibnall will continue in the show. Jodie Whittaker will continue to give life to “The Doctor.” Sadly it is confirmed that her companion trio, Graham (Bradley Walsh) and Ryan (Tosin Cole), will leave the show after the festive special, Revolution of the Daleks. This means we won’t be able to see them in the next season. Michelle Gomez, who played Missy and Sacha Dhawan’s return to the show, is still unconfirmed.

The comedian and actor John Bishop have entered the cast for Doctor Who Season 13. He will be playing the role of Dan. Other details regarding the cast members are still unknown. We may need to wait for some more time to get the complete information regarding the cast.

When will The Doctor and his team arrive?

Due to the pandemic, the shoot was delayed for quite some time. This also made the showrunners cut down the total number of episodes to just ten instead of the regular thirteen. Even though it is a bit upsetting, we can still be happy that the show is happening.

In a press release, BBC has confirmed that Doctor Who will be airing on BBC One later this year, suggesting a mid-summer, early autumn release. As for the story’s plot for the new season, Chibnall describes it as “mad, exciting, funny and scary!”  Which indeed suggests that the show is worth the wait. Since we don’t have the TARDIS to jump into the future until then, we recommend you to refresh your knowledge of this show by watching it again, including all the specials and TV series spinoffs.
