Early Life

Mayim Bialik was born to Jewish parents Barry and Beverly Bialik on 12th December 1975. Her parents were Jewish immigrants, so the actress grew up in San Diego, California. Bialik graduated from North Hollywood High School, California, in 1993. In 2001, she moved on to complete her graduation from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She received a degree in Bachelors of Science where she studied neuroscience and Hebrew and Jewish studies as her elective subjects. The actress also went on to get a Ph.D. in Neuroscience which she eventually completed in 2007.

Mayim Bialik started her career as a child actor when she bagged a role in Pumpkinhead in 1988 at 12. She worked in the movie Beaches in 1989, playing the child version of Bette Midler’s character. A great way to kickstart her career, the actress was offered to be a part of various US Television shows. While she came into the limelight with her role in American Tv show Blossom(1990-1995), her character Amy in ‘Big Bang Theory,’ an American sitcom, has also been applauded.

In addition to her successful acting career, Bialik is also an author of the bestseller book ‘Girling up,’ based on the struggles girls go through while growing up and coming to terms with their bodily changes. She also came up with ‘Boying up’ in 2018, which covers boys’ mentality while growing up and how they transform from adolescence to adulthood.

After appearing as the guest host for the ‘Professor Tournament,’ Bialik is all set to grace the screens as one of the hosts for Jeopardy, the National College Championship.
