Robert Allen Iger, famously known as “Bob,” is the CEO of Walt Disney. He was born on 10 February 1951 in New York, United States of America. His father, Arthur L. Iger, was a Navy veteran who had taken part in World War II. His mother used to work at Boardman Junior High School,, which is located in Oceanside, New York. Along with his parents, Bob has three siblings, with him being the eldest one.
Attended his first school, Fulton Avenue school, and later completed his high school in 1969 at Oceanside High School. During his school days, Iger used to enjoy playing the trumpet and developed a liking for reading books. For higher education, he pursued a Bachelor of Science in Television and Radio from Roy H. Park School of Communications.
As for Bob’s professional life, he is currently working as the CEO of Walt Disney, which he rejoined very recently on 20 November 2022 after he was requested by Disney’s Board of Directors. His journey to become the CEO of Walt Disney started in 1974 when he joined ABC as a laborer. After 14 years of working at ABC, Iger was promoted to senior program executive.
There he was tasked to cover up the details regarding Calgary Winter Olympics. Only after a year of his work as a senior program executive was Bob promoted to the head of ABC Entertainment. And in 1994, he moved from executive vice president to president of ABC. After ABCs acquisition by Walt Disney, after four years of acquisition in February 1999, Bob became the president of Walt Disney, and the next year he was given the role of a chief operating officer.
After a lot of criticism against Michael Eisner, who was the CEO of Walt Disney at that time, the board finally replaced him with Bob Iger on 13 March 2005. His position lasted till his contract expiration in 2020. After his retirement as the CEO of Walt Disney in 2020, he soon joined a startup called Perfect Day as the director. And later, in November 2022, was requested by the board of Walt Disney to rejoin as the CEO.

Bob Iger’s current wife is Willow Bay. Willow was born on 28 December 1963. Before pursuing MBA from the New York University of Stern School of Business, she attended Dominican Academy and Phillips Academy. And as an undergraduate, she attended the University of Pennsylvania.
By profession, she is involved in multiple careers like editor, author, and television journalist. As of now, she is working as the dean of the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Before that, she used to work as the director at the same school. And earlier, she also worked at Huffington Post and Bloomberg Television.
During her modeling days, she worked for Ford Models. And from 1983 to 1989 as a spokesperson for Estee Lauder cosmetics. She has worked on NBC’s Today Show. And for four years on ABC’s Good Morning America Sunday. And for seven years, she has co-hosted NBA Inside Stuff.
She has served as an anchor for CNN, in which she hosted three of their popular programs. Between 2005 and 2006, she also worked as a freelance anchor for MSNBC and NBC News. Bob Iger’s Married Life
In his lifetime, Iger has been married twice. With Kathleen Susan Iger being her first wife. He and Susan together have two daughters. Unfortunately, in 1994 the couple divorce. After one year, in 1995, Bob married Willow Bay.
