The former Trump White House communications director expressed confidence in Shapiro’s future, asserting that the majority of Americans support Israel and stand with the Jewish community, hoping to see a Jewish Vice President or President in the future.

Despite being a finalist for the vice presidential nomination, Shapiro was at the end not selected. Harris announced that Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) would join her on the Democratic ticket.
As the decision approached, Shapiro faced criticism from the far left for his stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict. Critics accused the Jewish governor of endorsing Israel’s aggressive military actions against Palestinians. Supporters of Shapiro argued that he was being unfairly targeted and that the criticism was driven by antisemitism.
Following the announcement of Walz as the vice presidential nominee, Shapiro congratulated Harris and Walz, expressing his support for their campaign. In a statement, Shapiro praised Walz as a strong addition to the ticket and looked forward to campaigning for Harris and Walz across Pennsylvania, noting that his work as governor continues.
