Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown has debunked former President Trump’s account of a perilous helicopter flight they supposedly experienced together, branding it as mere “creative fiction.”
In a press briefing from Mar-a-Lago, Trump described a harrowing helicopter incident with Brown, claiming that they had to make an emergency landing and thought their lives were in danger. Trump also alleged that during this flight, Brown had made harsh comments about Vice President Harris.

Brown promptly refuted Trump’s story, calling it a fabrication. “Trump’s just engaging in his usual imaginative storytelling,” Brown remarked, laughing.
Brown, who played a pivotal role in Kamala Harris’s rise in politics, stated that he has never conducted business with Trump and expressed his reluctance to even ride in a helicopter with him. “There are too many people with agendas related to him, including those who handle helicopters,” Brown noted.
California Governor Gavin Newsom (D), who was also on the flight, dismissed Trump’s version of events as “B.S.” According to The New York Times, it was actually former Governor Jerry Brown (D) who was present, and he confirmed through a spokesperson that there was no emergency landing nor any conversation about Kamala Harris.
At 90, Willie Brown has recently commented on Harris’s rapid rise to the Democratic ticket’s forefront after President Biden’s exit. Despite their past relationship, which was a point of contention during Harris’s 2020 presidential run, Brown remains a loyal supporter.
He described Harris as a “good friend,” “absolutely beautiful,” and “smart as hell.” “I’ve been a part of every campaign she’s ever been involved in and am eagerly anticipating the next 89 days,” he said. “I’m excited about the prospect of her becoming president.”
