Anthony Scaramucci, the former White House communications director, remarked Thursday that former President Trump appears to be accepting the reality of not reclaiming the White House and is becoming increasingly agitated.
Scaramucci posted on X, stating that Trump is “growing darker” as he comes to terms with the loss. “It will be a rough 81 days,” he added, reflecting on the challenging period ahead.
Trump has directed several personal jabs at Vice President Harris, who is anticipated to secure the Democratic presidential nomination at the upcoming convention. However, there is pressure from Republicans for Trump to focus more on policy rather than personal attacks.
Former Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway suggested on Fox Business that Trump’s path to victory lies in shifting his strategy. “It’s fewer insults, more insights, and that policy contrast,” she advised.
During a Thursday press conference, Trump defended his right to make personal attacks against Harris. “I don’t have a lot of respect for her,” he said, criticizing her intelligence and predicting she would be a poor president. Trump also pointed out that Harris has personally attacked him, noting that she called him “weird.”
Polling data shows Harris gaining ground, with recent averages from The Hill/Decision Desk HQ indicating a slight lead for Harris over Trump, 49 percent to 47.2 percent. The New York Times/Siena College also reported Harris leading in crucial battleground states—Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin—by four points.
