During a recent interview, Republican vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance sparred with Fox News host Shannon Bream over polling data that suggests “great momentum” for Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.
Vance argued on Sunday that Harris’s campaign was not gaining traction as Bream highlighted recent polls showing a four to five-point lead for the vice president, according to the Washington Post and ABC News.
Bream questioned Vance, asking how his view of stagnating momentum aligns with these fresh numbers. She pointed out that all recent polls indicate huge momentum in Harris’s favor. Vance strongly refuted the polling data, expressing skepticism about its accuracy. He argued that many polls are indicating Harris’s campaign is not advancing as suggested.
Vance went on to downplay the importance of polls, stating that past election cycles, such as those in 2016 and 2020, showed how media-driven polls were often misleading and used to suppress Republican turnout and create division among voters.
He reassured viewers by asserting that the Trump campaign is in a strong position despite the polling data being discussed.
