Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) emphasized that Donald Trump needs to stop targeting Kamala Harris with personal attacks if he wants to boost his chances in the 2024 presidential race. During an interview on Meet the Press, host Kristen Welker brought up former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley’s warnings to Trump about his comments on Harris’ crowd sizes, ethnicity, and intelligence.
Agreeing with Haley’s sentiment, Graham said, “I don’t view Vice President Harris as a lunatic. I see her as the most liberal candidate ever nominated for the presidency in U.S. history.”
When Welker pressed Graham on whether Trump should steer clear of remarks about Harris’ race and intelligence, he concurred. “Yes, I think Nikki and I should focus on Georgia,” he remarked, alluding to the challenge of offering advice via television. “Trump already has plenty of critics.”
Graham then shared his advice, stating, “Trump has a real shot at winning this election. His policies are advantageous for America.” He elaborated further, “If the election discussion is about policy, Trump will come out on top,” while warning that “Trump, the entertainer and provocateur, might jeopardize his chances.”
Graham concluded by asserting that “policy should be the focus if Trump wants to secure the White House.”
