Pennsylvania’s Safety and Sanitation Concerns Raised by Black Women Over Migrants

During a rally for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, supporters expressed concerns about the impact of migrants on their community, describing it as “unsafe” and “unsanitary.” A rallygoer voiced frustration, noting, “The neighborhoods are just going downhill,” and criticizing the repeated need to call the police without seeing effective action.

Mediaite highlighted that these comments came from Black women, while the Right Side Broadcasting Network (RSBN), a conservative outlet, simply referred to them as Trump supporters.

The increase in migration was cited as contributing to the community’s deterioration due to what was described as a “lack of respect for the law.” One supporter claimed, “With the influx of illegals, this area is very unsafe now,” attributing this to a perceived disregard for legal norms.

For these voters, immigration remains a top concern, with one individual stating, “The police are overwhelmed,” attributing the issue to an increase in retirements and insufficient replacements. She added, “The police can’t control the problem.”

Economic challenges also surfaced despite positive assessments from Democrats about the state of the economy under President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Another attendee lamented, “Higher prices, fewer places to live,” pointing to rising rents and limited housing options as significant issues.
