During his appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Gov. Chris Sununu (R-NH) expressed doubts about Donald Trump’s chances of winning a second presidential term.
Despite initially supporting Gov. Nikki Haley’s GOP nomination bid, Sununu’s stance shifted after her withdrawal, and he observed as host Jake Tapper played a clip of Haley criticizing Trump for his personal attacks on Vice President Kamala Harris, including questioning her race.

In response to Haley’s remarks about the futility of focusing on crowd sizes and personal attacks, Tapper posed the question, “Who is right here? Haley or Trump?” Sununu swiftly sided with Haley, asserting, “Well it isn’t Donald Trump in this case.”
He elaborated that a different Republican candidate might be leading by ten points, emphasizing that sticking to substantive issues would make the race easier for Trump.
Later, when Tapper inquired about Trump’s contentious remarks regarding war heroes who received the Congressional Medal of Honor, which had drawn criticism from the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Sununu agreed with the assessment that the comments were “asinine.” He added, “I don’t think they’re the first asinine comments former President Trump has ever made.”
