Vivek Ramaswamy, former Republican presidential candidate and entrepreneur, revealed that he has discussed a “remarkable role” in a potential Trump administration with the former president.
In an interview on OutKick’s “Maintaining with Tyrus,” Ramaswamy reflected on his political future, six months after suspending his presidential campaign and endorsing Trump. He has been mentioned as a potential gubernatorial candidate in Ohio, his home state, and as a possible replacement for Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance in the Senate, should Trump and Vance secure the White House.
Ramaswamy acknowledged the growing support for him to run for governor in Ohio, noting, “How could I not consider it?” He also mentioned the possibility of stepping into Vance’s Senate seat, which is now open. “President Trump and I have had great conversations about doing something substantial, maybe even a couple of important roles in the Cabinet,” he added.
Weighing the pros and cons of each opportunity, Ramaswamy emphasized that his decision would aim for “high impact.” His interview, scheduled to air Sunday, highlights his ongoing discussions with Trump about a potential Cabinet position in the event of a Trump victory.
With Vance as Trump’s running mate, Ramaswamy expressed willingness to “strongly consider” the Senate seat if Republicans win. He remains in regular contact with Trump, exploring possibilities for a serious role in a future administration.
