Former President Trump expressed satisfaction over his perceived influence on President Biden’s political downfall, criticizing Biden as an “angry man” following his exit from the race.
On Truth Social, Trump posted, “I watched Joe Biden Monday night and was struck by his ANGER at being humiliated by the Democrats. I’m pleased to have played a role in his downfall, starting with the debate on June 27, 2024, which I believe was heavily orchestrated by Comrade Kamala Harris.”
Trump suggested that Biden, who is currently vacationing in California, is “unhappily sunbathing” and harboring resentment towards former President Obama, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and actor George Clooney. These Democrats reportedly pushed Biden to step aside after his lackluster debate performance against Trump in June.
Trump’s post described Biden as “the Worst President in the History of the United States” and criticized both Biden and Vice President Harris. He questioned why Biden chose to withdraw from the race, despite Biden’s stated reason of wanting to give the Democratic ticket the best chance against Trump.
Following the debate, where Biden appeared fatigued and unfocused, concerns about his ability to win and serve another term mounted. Biden announced his withdrawal in July and endorsed Vice President Harris as his successor. In recent weeks, Biden has supported Harris’s campaign, delivering a passionate speech at the Democratic National Convention where he urged delegates to elect Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, to the White House.
