Former Representative Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) dismissed concerns that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. potentially endorsing former President Trump would impact the presidential election seriously.
Ryan, addressing the issue at the Democratic National Convention’s third night at the United Center, stated, “I don’t think it’ll have much effect at all.” He explained that Kennedy’s supporters, who seek change, are unlikely to switch their allegiance to Trump, whom they may not see as a viable alternative.

Speculation is mounting about Kennedy’s next move, with some reports suggesting he may withdraw from the race and endorse Trump. Nicole Shanahan, Kennedy’s running mate, recently hinted at this possibility during a podcast interview.
Kennedy’s campaign has struggled to gain traction, with national polls showing Vice President Harris leading at 48 percent, Trump at 44 percent, and Kennedy at just 3 percent, according to Decision Desk HQ.
Experts, as well as the Harris-Walz campaign, believe Kennedy’s potential exit will not alter the race. Harris campaign Chair Jen O’Malley Dillon expressed confidence in Harris’s prospects, saying, “We are very confident that the vice president’s going to win whether she is running against one candidate or multiple candidates.” Dillon also noted that Kennedy’s increased visibility has not improved his standing with voters.
