Trump countered, asserting, “No, she’s not succeeding. I am performing exceptionally well with Hispanic voters, Black men, and women who prioritize safety.” He dismissed MacCallum’s observations, claiming his polling numbers are strong.
Recent polling data indicates that Harris has managed to close the gap between herself and Trump, reversing his lead over President Biden both nationally and in key battleground states. The Cook Political Report recently shifted several crucial races toward Harris, with polls showing her leading Trump in most of the critical states likely to influence the November election.
Trump’s critique of Harris’s speech focused on her failure to address issues such as immigration and inflation during her vice presidency. He questioned why she did not implement the solutions she now advocates.
Additionally, Trump rejected Harris’s attempts to link him to Project 2025, a conservative policy agenda from the Heritage Foundation. Despite Harris’s attempts to associate Trump with the controversial proposals outlined in the document, Trump dismissed it as irrelevant to him, stating, “I have nothing to do with Project ’25. I haven’t seen it and have no interest in it.”
