Trump Intensifies Attacks on Harris Over Immigration and Crime

Former U.S President Donald Trump

Early Saturday, former President Trump took to social media to continue his criticisms of Vice President Harris, particularly focusing on immigration policies implemented during the Biden administration.

Trump labeled Harris as “the Weakest Presidential Candidate in History on Crime” in a post on Truth Social. He went on to accuse Harris of allowing millions to cross the border, including people from prisons, mental institutions, and even terrorists, claims for which there is no verified evidence.

These latest criticisms are part of a broader campaign narrative where Trump has targeted President Biden’s immigration policies and portrayed Harris as the administration’s “failed border czar.” This refers to her efforts addressing migration from the Northern Triangle countries of El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.

Trump labels Harris as “the worst vice president” in history, as the political race intensifies with less than three months to go

Harris’s political momentum has surged recently, particularly after taking the lead of the Democratic ticket following Biden’s decision to step down. She has shattered fundraising records, climbed in the polls, packed rallies nationwide, and gained huge endorsements.

Earlier this week, Harris officially accepted the Democratic Party’s nomination at the convention in Chicago, a wave of enthusiasm that Trump has tried to downplay, though he hasn’t ignored it entirely.

Trump criticized Harris, pointing out that she had previously run against Biden in 2020, suggesting that voters had chosen Biden, not her.

“What gives her the right to run for President?” he questioned. “She got no votes compared to Biden’s 14 million. She failed in her previous bid, was the first to drop out, didn’t make it to Iowa, and now she’s a Presidential candidate?” Trump also called the situation “a threat to democracy.”

In a separate post, Trump commented on the unusual dynamics of this race. Reflecting on his role as the incumbent in the 2020 election, Trump accused Harris of attempting to shift blame for the Biden administration’s “failures” onto him.

“Kamala and her team are trying to make it seem like I’m still the President, so they can pin the failures of the past four years on me,” Trump said. “No, that was their failure!”

“It’s one of the worst presidencies in history, and she’s certainly the worst vice president,” he added. With less than three months until the election, some Republicans have urged Trump to focus more on policy rather than personal attacks.
