However, Trump’s most glaring “misstatement” came last Friday on Truth Social, where he declared: “My administration will be great for women and their reproductive rights.” This claim is particularly egregious given his track record.

Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization on July 24, 2022, Trump has repeatedly boasted about his role in its reversal.
On the anniversary of Dobbs, Trump declared himself the “most pro-life president ever,” and in May 2023, he claimed responsibility for ending Roe v. Wade. In a CBS News interview, he proudly asserted that overturning Roe was a major achievement and expressed no regrets.
The contradiction between Trump’s boasting about ending Roe and his claim to support women’s reproductive rights is stark. His campaign’s alignment with the Heritage Foundation’s “Project 2025,” which proposes removing the abortion pill mifepristone and enforcing restrictive social policies, further complicates his position.
Trump’s attempts to distance himself from anti-abortion extremism reflect political strategy rather than genuine change. The push for abortion rights has seriously influenced voter behavior, as seen in recent state ballot measures where abortion rights consistently won.
