Shanahan Describes Trump-RFK Jr. Relationship as a ‘True Coalition’

American Attorney Nicole Shanahan, American Politician Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Former U.S President Donald Trump

Nicole Shanahan, the vice presidential candidate alongside independent presidential hopeful Robert F. Kennedy Jr., discussed their campaign’s alliance with former President Donald Trump, characterizing it as a “true coalition.”

In an interview with NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo, Shanahan elaborated on Kennedy’s recent endorsement of Trump, hinting at a potential Cabinet position for Kennedy should Trump win the presidency. Shanahan emphasized that this coalition approach mirrors practices in other democratic nations where coalition governments are common.

Shanahan emphasizes the strategic nature of Kennedy’s endorsement of Trump, with clear boundaries and mutual expectations outlined for their partnership

“Imagine this as a genuine coalition government,” Shanahan explained on NewsNation’s “Cuomo.” “In such a government, Bobby would represent our movement and party within the Cabinet. I firmly believe that Trump will honor this arrangement.”

Kennedy’s decision to suspend his presidential bid and back Trump was announced last week. While Kennedy has indicated that there are no formal commitments regarding a role in Trump’s administration, the Trump campaign has mentioned that Kennedy will join Trump’s transition team.

Former Representative Tulsi Gabbard (I-Hawaii) has also been invited to join the transition team.

Brian Hughes, a senior adviser for Trump’s campaign, expressed enthusiasm about including these prominent voices, stating, “We look forward to having their influential perspectives as we work to restore America’s greatness.”

Shanahan described Kennedy’s endorsement of Trump as “amazing,” highlighting the importance of their partnership. She noted that Kennedy drew nearly 30,000 supporters during his endorsement announcement, and Trump’s willingness to collaborate on critical issues was a gesture of goodwill.

“This partnership is not about being absorbed into Trump’s camp,” Shanahan asserted. “Rather, it is a strategic alignment with clear boundaries and mutual expectations.”
