A recent poll reveals that more Americans believe Vice President Kamala Harris stands a stronger chance of securing the presidency in the upcoming November election than former President Donald Trump. The Yahoo News/YouGov poll shows that 39 percent of Americans think Harris has the best shot at winning, compared to 36 percent who believe Trump is more likely to prevail.
Harris’s elevation to the top of the Democratic ticket, following President Biden’s decision to step aside and endorse her last month, has generated enthusiasm among Democrats. This surge in support is largely attributed to the perception that Harris is better positioned to win the election than Biden.

Despite this momentum, 25 percent of those surveyed remain uncertain about whether Harris or Trump will eventually claim victory in the presidential race.
When questioned about the fitness of the candidates to serve as president, 50 percent of respondents affirmed that Harris is fit for the Oval Office, while 47 percent expressed the same confidence in Trump. Meanwhile, 37 percent doubted Harris’s suitability for the presidency, compared to 47 percent who questioned Trump’s fitness for the role. Additionally, 22 percent of participants were unsure about Harris’s qualifications, with only 8 percent expressing similar doubts about Trump.
Harris has gained a 4-point advantage over Trump in an average of national polls conducted by The Hill/Decision Desk HQ, with 49.5 percent of respondents supporting her.
As the election approaches, Harris and Trump are expected to face off in an ABC News debate. Although Trump recently cast doubt on his participation, he announced on Tuesday that an agreement had been reached, presumably with Harris’s campaign, regarding the debate.
