Tezlyn Figaro, who previously advised Senator Bernie Sanders, strongly asserted that Vice President Harris had no real chance of winning the presidential election, blaming President Biden’s delayed exit and the influence of wealthy consultants. During an interview with NewsNation’s Dan Abrams on Friday, Figaro declared that Harris’s campaign was doomed from the start.
Figaro pointed out that the setup for Harris’s 100-day campaign, particularly as a woman of color, was destined to fail. She argued that Biden should have stepped down earlier to allow for a primary race, giving another candidate a chance at the nomination.
When asked to elaborate on the issues at hand, Figaro cited Biden’s failure to leave the race sooner as the primary problem. She also criticized the high-priced political consultants, saying they had mishandled the situation and wasted vast amounts of money.
She further condemned these consultants, suggesting they’ve been mismanaging campaigns since Obama’s tenure. According to Figaro, they ignored grassroots efforts, spending money on celebrities rather than addressing the needs of local communities.
Figaro stressed the need for these consultants and Hollywood elites to step back and listen to ordinary voters. Until this shift occurs, she predicted that the Democratic Party would continue to face failure at the polls.
Following Harris’s defeat, many Democrats began to reconsider the heavy reliance on celebrity endorsements, which played a prominent role in her campaign. From Taylor Swift’s endorsement to Beyoncé’s appearance and the use of her song “Freedom,” the campaign’s glamorous approach did not translate into success.
