According to former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, President-elect Trump is focused on bringing the nation together. On Sunday, during an appearance on ABC News’ This Week with Jonathan Karl, Ramaswamy emphasized that uniting the country is Trump’s main priority. “I believe that Donald Trump’s number one focus is to unite the country,” he stated.
Ramaswamy continued, saying that after the decisive victory, it is important for Americans—regardless of their political differences—to reconnect and find common ground. “We need to get back to a place where, despite voting differently, Americans can gather at the dinner table and remember that we’re all still Americans,” he explained.
Trump’s victory in the 2024 presidential race against Vice President Harris has shaken Democrats across the nation. In this election, Trump managed to win seven crucial battleground states, including six that had supported President Biden in 2020.
Ramaswamy believes Trump has gained valuable insights from his first term and is now poised to achieve even greater success during his second. “He’s entering this second term with the chance to accomplish things he couldn’t the first time, which will be beneficial,” he added.
This week’s victory marks a remarkable comeback for Trump, especially after his 2020 defeat. Since leaving office in 2021, Trump has faced numerous legal challenges and serious criticism related to the January 6 Capitol riots.
Trump declared early Wednesday morning that the country had given him and his party a “powerful and unprecedented mandate.” He added, “This will truly be the golden age of America. We have to make it happen,” celebrating the win as a “magnificent victory” that would allow him to “make America great again.”
