Charlamagne tha God praised Vice President Harris, emphasizing that she deserves far more recognition for revitalizing a campaign that seemed doomed. In an interview on ABC News’s This Week, Charlamagne told Jonathan Karl that Harris played a crucial role in breathing life back into a campaign that appeared to be in its final stages.
“She needs more credit than she’s probably going to get,” he said. “The campaign was literally dead.” Jonathan Karl responded, asking, “With Biden?” “Yep,” Charlamagne confirmed. “The campaign was dead with Biden. People made jokes about him, saying they’d vote for him even if he was a corpse.”
Praising Harris’ efforts, Charlamagne said the campaign was “literally dead” before she brought it back to life
“Well, he practically was,” Charlamagne continued. “There was no life in that campaign, and I think the vice president got people to sit up and take notice. At least she made them curious.”
President Biden, after a poorly received debate performance against President-elect Trump in June, dropped out of the race in late July. His exit opened the door for Harris to take his place at the top of the Democratic ticket.
Despite the leadership change, Harris lost the presidential election earlier this week. Charlamagne acknowledged Harris’s efforts, remarking, “She ran a great campaign in just 100 days.”
In her concession speech on Wednesday, Harris expressed resolve, saying, “While I concede this election, I do not concede the fight that fueled this campaign.” She continued, “I know folks are feeling and experiencing a range of emotions right now, I get it. But we must accept the results of this election.”
