Vivek Ramaswamy, a prominent tech entrepreneur, has been named to lead the newly established “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE) alongside Elon Musk in President-elect Trump’s administration. In this role, Ramaswamy anticipates changes within the federal government, including the elimination of certain agencies.
Speaking on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures, Ramaswamy revealed plans for sweeping cuts. “We expect drastic reductions, including the outright removal of certain agencies,” he stated. He also indicated that efforts will focus on reducing the size of federal operations that have become overly bloated.

Further explaining his vision, Ramaswamy emphasized that “massive cuts” would target federal contractors and other groups that have been found to overcharge the government. He expressed confidence in the speed of these reforms, citing favorable legal conditions provided by the Supreme Court’s rulings.
Ramaswamy, who previously ran in the Republican presidential primaries before withdrawing, views this moment as a critical turning point. He believes the current opportunity to shrink the federal government might not come again. “If we don’t act now, it may never happen,” he said, stressing the urgency of taking prompt and effective action.
Last week, both Ramaswamy and Musk were named to head DOGE, which Trump has envisioned as a key department aimed at eliminating waste, cutting unnecessary regulations, and restructuring inefficient federal agencies.
Ramaswamy has been a vocal supporter of Trump over the past year and had hinted at his desire to be part of the administration. He even appeared on the campaign trail in support of Trump as the race neared its conclusion.
