Major DC Lobbying Firm Strengthens Team with Florida Expertise

Nick Iarossi brings Florida’s political clout to Washington’s BGR Group

A prominent Florida lobbyist is set to join one of Washington’s leading lobbying firms, a move that underscores Florida’s growing influence within the incoming Trump administration.

Nick Iarossi will assume the role of managing director at BGR Group, a development revealed exclusively to The Hill. Bob Wood, the chair and CEO of BGR Group, described Iarossi as a “remarkable political talent” who played a pivotal role in establishing one of Florida’s most successful government affairs firms.

As a founding member of Capital City Consulting, a Florida-based lobbying and public affairs group, Iarossi has been deeply involved with key political figures, including Sen. Marco Rubio, Gov. Ron DeSantis, and President-elect Trump.

Iarossi’s move to BGR highlights Florida’s rising influence in D.C.

His contributions have spanned campaign efforts, inaugural committees, and fundraising initiatives. Speaking from Milan during a trade mission with DeSantis, Iarossi highlighted his active involvement in raising funds for Trump’s campaign, transition, and upcoming inaugural events.

He also served as co-chair of DeSantis’s national finance committee during his presidential campaign and held leadership roles in both of DeSantis’s gubernatorial inaugurations.

Last month, Iarossi shared a photo on X from Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally alongside real estate developer Steve Witkoff, whom Trump recently appointed as special envoy to the Middle East. Iarossi’s extensive political resume also includes membership on Rubio’s 2016 presidential campaign finance committee, with Rubio now nominated as Trump’s Secretary of State.

Iarossi’s connections extend across Florida’s political landscape, including figures like former Rep. Matt Gaetz, Trump’s nominee for attorney general, and Rep. Mike Waltz, tapped as national security adviser.

Iarossi emphasized Florida’s representation in the Trump administration, referring to the state as its “epicenter.” His prior experience includes involvement in Sen. Rick Scott’s gubernatorial inaugurations and a background in the Florida Senate and House.

While his new role will span various policy areas, Iarossi expressed particular interest in foreign policy. He acknowledged the unique challenges of Washington but noted that BGR Group provides the expertise and infrastructure to leverage his 25 years of lobbying experience and extensive network.

Capital City Consulting and BGR Group operate under the same holding company, Advocus Partners. Iarossi will maintain ownership and operational responsibilities at Capital City Consulting while transitioning into his position at BGR. Ron LaFace, president of Advocus and co-owner of Capital City Consulting, described the move as a natural progression that strengthens the firm’s state and national government affairs capabilities.
