According to veteran news anchor Bill O’Reilly, the appointment of Kash Patel as President-elect Trump’s choice to lead the FBI has become increasingly critical. O’Reilly expressed his concerns on NewsNation’s “On Balance,” stating, “The FBI knew what Joe Biden did and buried it,” while discussing the ongoing issues surrounding Hunter Biden’s tax evasion and gun charges.
He further emphasized the need for Patel, saying, “We need Kash Patel in there to blow that place up.” O’Reilly noted that pardoning family members is a common practice in America, and he would have taken similar action if he were in Biden’s position, suggesting that he would have pardoned his own son as well.
Patel has pledged to reform the FBI, which he claims is “thoroughly compromised,” despite facing criticism from Democrats who argue he lacks the qualifications for the position.
To assume his role, Patel requires confirmation from the U.S. Senate, although some insiders in Washington suggest that he will encounter serious challenges in securing the position. If Patel is confirmed, he would succeed Christopher Wray, the current FBI director appointed by Trump, who is not expected to leave his post until 2027.
