House Republicans’ investigation into Hunter Biden, President Biden’s son, should persist, according to Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-N.Y.), despite the president’s recent decision to grant his son a pardon on Sunday.
Malliotakis expressed on Fox News Thursday, “Our investigation must continue to ensure the American people know the truth, even with these pardons in place.” When questioned by host Elizabeth MacDonald regarding the constitutionality of Biden’s “full and unconditional” pardon, she argued that it should be legally challenged and nullified in court.

She added, “I think you’ll see members from the Oversight Committee and other committees that have worked diligently on this trying to pursue those arguments.” The pardon has ignited backlash from lawmakers, with both Democrats and Republicans voicing their disapproval of the president’s actions.
In June, a jury convicted Hunter Biden on three felony counts for lying about his drug use on a firearm purchase application and for unlawfully possessing the firearm afterward. He had also pleaded guilty to nine federal tax charges in September and was awaiting sentencing in both matters before the pardon was issued.
In a statement regarding the pardon, President Biden remarked, “No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son — and that is wrong.” He had previously denied multiple times that he would consider granting his son a pardon.
